Regular Season Round 18: Flames - Basket 2K 85-66

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Vienna: Flames (#9) and Basket 2K (#11). Flames (7-11) smashed visiting Basket 2K (3-15) by 19 points 85-66. The game was mostly controlled by Flames. Basket 2K was better in fourth quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Flames dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Basket 2K's 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for Bosnian-Slovenian center Fuad Memcic (209-82, agency: Promotex) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Colin Fuchs-Robetin (189-95) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Flames players scored in double figures. Forward Michael Diesner (193-92) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and Bosnian guard Ognjen Drljaca (187-96) added 9 points and 8 assists in the effort for Basket 2K. Flames maintains ninth position with 7-11 record. Basket 2K lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 15 games lost. Flames will face higher ranked Rocks (#7) in Mattersburg in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Basket 2K will play at home against the league's second-placed Mustangs (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
