There was no surprise when 12th ranked PuHu Juniorit (1-17) was outleveled by fourth ranked PeU-Basket (12-6) in Pernio 105-56 on Sunday. The game without a history. PeU-Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. PeU-Basket forced 25 PuHu Juniorit turnovers and outrebounded them 55-34 including a 23-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. PeU-Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by PuHu Juniorit's players. It was a good game for forward Samu Kaaresvirta (192-81) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists. Canadian forward Kashrell Lawrence (188, college: Dalhousie) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Five PeU-Basket players scored in double figures. Samatar Abokar replied with 9 points and 9 rebounds and Guled Abokar added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for PuHu Juniorit. PeU-Basket maintains fourth position in Division with 12-6 record. Loser PuHu Juniorit keeps the twelfth place with 17 games lost. PeU-Basket will face Karkkila (#5) on the road in the next round. PuHu Juniorit will play against the league's second-placed MuKi (#2) and hope to win that game.
