Regular Season Round 23: Valle de Egues - La Fecha 51-60

There was no surprise in Olaz where 14th ranked Valle de Egues (5-15) was defeated by ninth ranked La Fecha (9-11) 60-51 on Sunday. Valle de Egues trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 19 after three quarters before a 19-9 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 51-60 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was Jaime Martinez who scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Fernandez-Ivan Villamil chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Ivorian power forward Kouassi Konan (204-91) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and Ivan Del-Rio (-97) added 7 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Valle de Egues' coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for La Fecha. They maintain ninth place in Group A-A with 9-11 record. Valle de Egues lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. La Fecha will face higher ranked Cantbasket (#6) in Santander in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Valle de Egues will play at home against CBT Gimnastica (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
