The game in Surabaya was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Filipino Alab Pilipinas (10-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Indonesian CLS Knights (3-9). Alab Pilipinas managed to secure a 7-point victory 80-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CLS Knights. They outrebounded CLS Knights 47-34 including 33 on the defensive glass. Alab Pilipinas players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American-Puerto Rican forward Renaldo Balkman (203-84, college: S.Carolina) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. American forward Justin Brownlee (197-88, college: St.John's) accounted for 16 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Alab Pilipinas' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center Brian Williams (208-87, college: Tennessee) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import forward Shane Edwards (201-87, college: UALR) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for CLS Knights in the defeat. Four CLS Knights players scored in double figures. Alab Pilipinas have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain second place with 10-4 record behind leader Hong Kong ELL. CLS Knights at the other side keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Alab Pilipinas will play against bottom-ranked Formosa D. (#9) in Changhua City in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CLS Knights will play at home against Mono Vampire and hope to get back on the winning track.
