Regular Season Round 20: Hoverla - Khimik-2 92-76

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ivano-Frankivsk. Second ranked Hoverla faced 4th ranked Khimik-2. Host Hoverla (14-2) defeated guests from Yuzhny (6-8) 92-76. The game was mostly controlled by Hoverla. Khimik-2 was better in fourth quarter 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Khimik-2 47-34 including 33 on the defensive glass. Hoverla players were unselfish on offense dishing 36 assists. Forward Denys Koshovets (202-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 8 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Kyrylo Podkovyrov (186-96) contributed with 13 points and 9 assists for the winners. Point guard Vadym Kozak (181-99) replied with 9 points and 9 assists and Denys Klevzunyk (192-0) added 14 points in the effort for Khimik-2. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hoverla have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-2 record behind leader Dinamo. Khimik-2 at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. Hoverla will play against KPZO DYUSH (#7) in Dnepropetrovsk in the next round where they are favorite. Khimik-2 will play on the road against the league's leader Dinamo in Odessa and hopes to get back on the winning track.
