Regular Season Round 17: Malbas - AIK Basket 63-94

The game in Malmo supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked AIK Basket (14-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Malbas (4-12). AIK Basket smashed Malbas 94-63 on Sunday. The game without a history. AIK Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Malbas' 34. They outrebounded Malbas 40-21 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. AIK Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Turkish guard Erkan Inan (195-89) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Olivier Ilunga (186-84, agency: Promotex) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four AIK Basket players scored in double figures. Guard Kasper Hagberg (185-98) produced 17 points and 5 assists and forward Stefan Alavuk (201-98) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for AIK Basket. They moved-up to third place. Loser Malbas keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. AIK Basket will meet Trelleborg (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Malbas will have a break next round.
