Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Gran Canaria II (8-12) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Alcobendas (10-9) 77-73 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-14. But Gran Canaria II won second period 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was power forward Daniel Trachsel (202-94) who scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Miguel Young (200-90) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Pamor Diene (208-98) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds and Polish center Aleksander Balcerowski (215-0, agency: Octagon Europe) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Gran Canaria II's coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Alcobendas moved-up to seventh place in Group B, which they share with Rivas. Loser Gran Canaria II stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Alcobendas will face Teguise (#16) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gran Canaria II will play against Villarrobledo (#3) and hope to win that game.
