Everything went according to plan in Sao Paulo where sixth ranked Pinheiros (13-8) beat 8th ranked Caxias do Sul (10-11) 90-75 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Pinheiros. Caxias do Sul was better in fourth quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Desmond Holloway (191-90, college: Co.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 rebounds and center Ralfi Ansaloni (211-87) who added 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Alexandre de-Souza (202-92) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Caue Freitas (192-88) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Pinheiros have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 13-8 record. Caxias do Sul lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 11 games lost. Pinheiros will have a break next round. Caxias do Sul will play on the road against Liga Sorocaba (#15) in Sorocabana and hope to win that game.
