Regular Season Round 22: Gnupverjar - IA 103-62

Bottom-ranked IA (0-20) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 103-62 loss to seventh ranked Gnupverjar (7-12) in Reykjavik on Friday evening. They also forced 19 IA turnovers and outrebounded them 55-41 including 23 on the offensive glass. Gnupverjar looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Co.Carolina) had a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Gabriel Moller (182-99) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Gnupverjar players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Marcus Dewberry (183, college: St.Leo) responded with 32 points and 7 rebounds and forward Sigurdur Sigurdsson (198-88) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Gnupverjar maintains seventh position with 7-12 record. Loser IA still closes the standings. Gnupverjar will meet FSU (#8) in the next round. IA will play against the league's leader Skallagrimur having rather not much hope for a victory.
