Rather predictable result in Rio de Janeiro where second ranked Flamengo (17-3) beat 5th ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (13-8) 75-61. Flamengo made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. It was a good game for the former international Marquinhos Vieira (207-84) who led his team to a victory with 23 points. The former international power forward Joao-Paulo Batista (205-81, college: Gonzaga) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Rafael Hettsheimer (206-86) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds and international forward Renan Lenz (206-90, college: Utah) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Paschoalotto/Bauru. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Flamengo. They maintain second place with 17-3 record having 2 victories less than leader Paulistano. Paschoalotto/Bauru at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Pinheiros. Flamengo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Paschoalotto/Bauru will play at home against Liga Sorocaba (#15) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
