Regular Season Round 24: La Fecha - Zarautz 85-67

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Zarautz (4-18) lost to ninth ranked La Fecha (10-12) in Arroyo Encomienda 67-85 on Saturday. The game without a history. La Fecha led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. La Fecha forced 20 Zarautz turnovers. It was a good game for guard Millan Lopez (185-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Alejandro Fisac (183-96) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Aitzol Eguskitza (193-90) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Estanislao Andres (185-90) added 14 points in the effort for Zarautz. Four Zarautz players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. La Fecha have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position in Group A-A with 10-12 record. Zarautz lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 18 games lost. La Fecha will face higher ranked Santurtzi (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Zarautz will play against CBT Gimnastica (#16) in Torrelavega and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
