Regular Season Round 22: Challans - La Charite 94-88

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Vendee Challans' (13-9) home victory over 7th ranked La Charite (11-11) 94-88 on Saturday. Strangely La Charite outrebounded Vendee Challans 35-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for point guard Paul Turpin (190-93) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 4 assists. Swingman Dominique Gentil (197-88, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American point guard Deremy Geiger (181-90, college: Idaho, agency: Blacktop Management) replied with 30 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Jerrell Wright (203, college: La Salle) added 7 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for La Charite. Five Vendee Challans and four La Charite players scored in double figures. Vendee Challans have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Chartres. Newly promoted La Charite keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. Vendee Challans will face SO Maritime Boulogne (#11) in Boulogne-sur-Mer in the next round where they are favorite. La Charite will play at home against Saint-Quentin (#4) and hope to win that game.
