There was no surprise when Ostrava (8-11) was crushed on the road by Sokol Pisek (12-7) 88-58 on Sunday. Sokol Pisek forced 20 Ostrava turnovers and outrebounded them 41-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. Ostrava was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Petr Slechta (192-95) fired 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Pavel Englicky (210-83) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks. Guard Michal Palat (194-90) produced 13 points and 5 rebounds and Matous Kurecka (186-0) added 13 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sokol Pisek will face Novy Jicin (#4) on the road in the next round. Ostrava will play against Nymburk B and hope to win that game.
