Regular Season Round 24: Khimik - Dnipro 90-93

Fourth-ranked Khimik (11-11) made lots of trouble for first ranked Dnipro (22-2) in Yuzhny on Sunday. The visitors from Dnipro managed to secure only three-point victory 93-90. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Khimik. Khimik was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Dnipro looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Khimik helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Volodymyr Shevchenko (196-94) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. The former international swingman Dmytro Gliebov (198-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Five Dnipro players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Derrick Colter (180-94, college: Duquesne, agency: Inception Sports) who recorded 27 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and his fellow American import forward Austin Arians (198-93, college: Wake Forest) added 21 points respectively. Dnipro have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-2 record. Khimik at the other side keeps the fourth place with 11 games lost. Dnipro are looking forward to face Cherkasy (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Khimik will play against Mykolaiv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
