Regular Season Round 12: CLS Knights - Saigon H. 88-93

Date: February 18, 2018
The game in Surabaya was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (7-7) played at the court of 7th ranked Indonesian CLS Knights (3-11). Saigon Heat managed to secure a 5-point victory 93-88 on Sunday. Saigon Heat made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Nigerian power forward Maxie Esho (206-91, college: Massachusetts, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) who added 26 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Saigon Heat players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Shane Edwards (201-87, college: UALR) with 33 points (!!!) and point guard Mario Wuysang (176-79) scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. CLS Knights' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Saigon Heat maintains sixth position with 7-7 record. CLS Knights lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with 11 games lost. Saigon Heat will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. CLS Knights will play again against Saigon Heat (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
