Regular Season Round 23: Tarnovia - Trefl II Sopot 58-70

The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked Trefl II Sopot's (10-13) road victory over 11th ranked Tarnovia (6-17) 70-58 on Sunday. Trefl II Sopot made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Tarnovia turnovers. Strangely Tarnovia outrebounded Trefl II Sopot 47-35 including 32 on the defensive glass. Tarnovia was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Kacper Burczyk (201-99) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Tomasz Dylicki (192-98) helped adding 20 points. Point guard Rafal Milczynski (185-94) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Bartlomiej Gubernat (185-94) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Tarnovia's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Trefl II Sopot maintains tenth place in Group A with 10-13 record. Tarnovia lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Trefl II Sopot will face higher ranked AZS PGd (#8) in Gdansk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tarnovia will play on the road against the league's second-placed Asseco II (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
