Regular Season Round 24: Cantbasket - La Fecha 90-87

Rather expected game when 9th ranked La Fecha (10-12) was edged by sixth ranked Cantbasket (13-9) in Santander 90-87 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 3 points. Cantbasket outrebounded La Fecha 43-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. La Fecha was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard David Garcia (192-80) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. American power forward Davie Champagnie (206-90, college: Martin Methodist, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Millan Lopez (185-94) replied with 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Alan Morchon added 17 points in the effort for La Fecha. Four La Fecha players scored in double figures. Cantbasket maintains sixth position in Group A-A with 13-9 record. Loser La Fecha keeps the ninth place with 12 games lost. Cantbasket will face BIOK2.COM OKE (#11) in Ordizia in the next round where they are favorite. La Fecha will play at home against Santurtzi and hope to win that game.
