Very predictable result when second ranked Real Madrid II (17-3) rolled over at home 11th ranked Estudio (7-14) 90-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Real Madrid II. Estudio was better in second period 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Estudio 48-31 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Real Madrid II made 7 blocks. It was a good game for center Usman Garuba (202-2) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Serbian forward Mario Nakic (199-1) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Alvaro Nogueras (192-89) replied with 24 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and point guard Eduardo Vicente (179-86) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Estudio. Five Real Madrid II and four Estudio players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Madrid II maintains second position in Group B with 17-3 record having just 2 victories less than leader Vic. Newly promoted Estudio dropped to the twelfth place with 14 games lost. Real Madrid II will face CB Guadalajara (#5) on the road in the next round. Estudio will play against Tenerife Naut. (#6) and hope to win that game.
