Very important is a road loss of third ranked Sokol Lancut (18-7) against sixth ranked GKS Tychy (16-9) on Saturday night. Visiting Sokol Lancut was crushed by GKS Tychy in Tychy 104-83. GKS Tychy players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Filip Malgorzaciak (192-93) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Michal Jankowski (191-87) accounted for 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Point guard Artur Wlodarczyk (180-96) came up with 20 points and guard Marek Zywert (192-96) added 16 points respectively for Sokol Lancut in the defeat. Five GKS Tychy and four Sokol Lancut players scored in double figures. Sokol Lancut's coach Dariusz Kaszowski gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. GKS Tychy have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 16-9 record. Sokol Lancut at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. GKS Tychy will play against Slask (#8) in Wroclaw in the next round. Sokol Lancut will play at home against the league's second-placed Polonia Leszno (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
