Second Stage Round 5: MBK Ruzomb. - BAM Poprad 59-57

Fourth-ranked BAM Poprad (0-10) was very close to win a game against third ranked MBK Ruzomberok (5-5) on Saturday. MBK Ruzomberok managed to secure only two-point victory 59-57. However their fans expected easier game. MBK Ruzomberok made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 BAM Poprad turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by BAM Poprad helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (180-96, college: Maryland) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 5 steals. Ukrainian forward Olga Yatskovets (188-97, agency: Lebedintsev Andriy) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. FYR Macedonian forward Ivana Kmetovska (190-95, college: Washington St.) answered with 8 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Lucia Kupcikova (184-84) added 9 points in the effort for BAM Poprad. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. MBK Ruzomberok maintains third place in Places 1-4 with 5-5 record having four points less than leader Good Angels. BAM Poprad at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. MBK Ruzomberok are looking forward to face league's leader Good Angels in Kosice in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BAM Poprad will play at home against the league's second-placed Piestanske C. and hopes to get finally their first victory.
