The biggest surprise of round 1 in NBL took place in Decin where host BK Decin (14-10) edged BK Olomoucko (11-12) 97-94 on Wednesday evening. Point guard Lukas Festr (185-94) fired 25 points for the winners. The former international forward Tomas Pomikalek (200-89) chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Charles Mitchell (203-93, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Slash Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import JC Fuller (196-94, college: W.Illinois, agency: Slash Sports) added 29 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four BK Olomoucko players scored in double figures. BK Olomoucko's coach Predrag Benacek rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BK Olomoucko will play next round against strong BK Opava trying to make it back to the top of the standings. BK Decin will try to continue on its current victory against CEZ Nymburk on the road.
