Very predictable result when eighth ranked Universo/Vitoria (12-11) won against on the road 13th ranked Joinville (5-18) 68-52. Universo/Vitoria had a 37-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. American power forward Matthew Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Arthur Silva (196-82) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Deonta Stocks (185-88, college: W.Georgia) responded with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and his fellow American import guard Que Johnson (198-92, college: W.Kentucky) scored 10 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Universo/Vitoria moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Caxias do Sul.
