Regular Season Round 20: Keflavik - Njardvik 87-83

An interesting game where host Keflavik (#8) won against 5th ranked Njardvik 87-83 on Thursday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-14. But Njardvik won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Keflavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Hordur Vilhjalmsson (194-88) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists and American forward Christian Jones (201-93, college: UNLV, agency: BeoBasket) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The former international Logi Gunnarsson (190-81) responded with 20 points and international Maciej Baginski (195-95) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Keflavik and five Njardvik players scored in double figures. Keflavik (10-10) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Stjarnan. Loser Njardvik keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Grindavik. Keflavik will meet Stjarnan (#7) on the road in the next round. Njardvik will play against the league's second-placed Tindastoll and will have a slim chance for a victory.
