Regular Season Round 21: Neptunas - Siauliai 71-78

The game between third ranked Neptunas (18-6) and seventh ranked Siauliai (9-15) was the most important one in the last round on Thursday night. Neptunas was defeated by Siauliai in a tough game in Klaipeda 71-78. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 7 points. The best player for the winners was power forward Arminas Urbutis (206-86, college: Hofstra, agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Donatas Sabeckis (197-92) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was international forward Edgaras Zelionis (207-89) who recorded 16 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Renaldas Seibutis (196-85) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Siauliai moved-up to fifth place, which they share with P.Zvaigzdes and Juventus. Neptunas at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Siauliai is looking forward to face P.Zvaigzdes (#6) in Pasvalys in the next round. Neptunas will play at home against Vytautas and is hoping to win this game.
