Regular Season Round 20: Lille - Quimper 75-63

Very expected game when 17th ranked Quimper UJAP (5-15) lost on the road to fourth ranked Lille Metropole (14-6) 75-63 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Lille Metropole. Quimper UJAP was better in fourth quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Quimper UJAP to just 7 points in third quarter. Lille Metropole looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American point guard Maurice Acker (176-87, college: Marquette) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 7 assists. Spanish guard Marcos Suka-Umu (192-85) contributed with 12 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Lille Metropole players scored in double figures. American-Nigerian power forward Efe Odigie (203) replied with 15 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Bernard King (196-81, college: Texas A&M) added 10 points and 6 assists in the effort for Quimper UJAP. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Lille Metropole maintains fourth position with 14-6 record, which they share with Roanne. Loser Quimper UJAP keeps the seventeenth place with 15 games lost. Lille Metropole will face league's leader ADA Blois on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Quimper UJAP will play against the league's second-placed Entente Orleans 45 (#2) and hope to win that game.
