Regular Season Round 25: Dnipro - Cherkasy 69-83

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Dnipro (22-3) at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Cherkasy (17-8) 83-69. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Dnipro. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Cherkasy. Dnipro managed to win fourth quarter 22-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of international Oleksandr Kobets (197-96) who helped to win the game recording 25 points. The former international swingman Oleksandr Kolchenko (195-88, agency: AproK Sports Group) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Volodymyr Shevchenko (196-94) answered with 17 points and the former international forward Alexander Sizov (198-88) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Dnipro. Cherkasy have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Budivelnyk. Dnipro at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Cherkasy is looking forward to face Politekhnik (#7) in Kharkiv in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Dnipro will play at home against Bipa Basket (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
