Regular Season Round 23: Oberhaching - Schwabing 75-62

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Oberhaching as it allowed them to take a leadership position in South-East. Oberhaching defeated 8th ranked Schwabing in Deisenhofen 75-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Schwabing. They outrebounded Schwabing 45-30 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for point guard Janosch Koegler (190-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Christian Hustert (192-94) helped adding 12 points and 13 rebounds. American swingman Nathan Gibbs (203-89, college: Westmont) responded with 19 points and 4 assists and Chris Wurmseher (192-97) scored 10 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Oberhaching (18-3) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Gotha II. Schwabing at the other side keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. Schwabing will play next round against Bamberg trying to get back on the winning streak. Oberhaching will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Ansbach on the road.
