Second Stage Round 7: Shumen - Chavdar 86-80

Shumen's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Chavdar (2-5) 86-80. They outrebounded Chavdar 42-24 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shumen players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Power forward Andrey Ivanov (206-96) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Viktor Serafimov (185-0) chipped in 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Filip Kamenov (200-95) produced 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Tsenko Nakov (185-87) added 22 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shumen (1-6) left bottom position moving up to fifth place in A. Chavdar at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Shumen's next round opponent will be Beroe-2 (#6) in Stara Zagora. Chavdar will play at home against Athletic Sofia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
