Second Stage Round 4: BK Decin - BK Opava 78-71

The most important game in the last round took place in Decin between third ranked BK Opava (18-9) and fourth ranked BK Decin (16-12) on Monday night. BK Opava was defeated by BK Decin in a tough game on the road 71-78. BK Decin outrebounded BK Opava 40-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Pavel Grunt (208-94) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The former international power forward Pavel Houska (203-84, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four BK Decin players scored in double figures. BK Decin's coach Pavel Budinsky used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Vaclav Bujnoch (200-93, college: Des Moines Area CC) replied with 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and forward Ludek Jurecka (198-83, agency: Octagon Europe) added 18 points in the effort for BK Opava. BK Decin maintains fourth position in Places 1-6 with 16-12 record. BK Opava at the other side keeps the third place with nine games lost. They share the position with BK Pardubice. BK Decin will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BK Opava will play at home against Basketbal Svitavy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
