Rather expected game when 9th ranked LOKO Trutnov (5-16) was crushed at home by sixth ranked Zabiny Brno (14-7) 74-50 on Wednesday. Zabiny Brno dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to LOKO Trutnov's 30. They outrebounded LOKO Trutnov 50-29 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Whitney Bays (188-92, college: Purdue) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. International forward Pavla Svrdlikova (185-90) chipped in 20 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Akilah Bethel (183-93, college: LSU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and Katerina Kozumplikova (174-93) added 11 points and 4 steals respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Zabiny Brno. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Sokol HK. Loser LOKO Trutnov keeps the ninth position with 16 games lost. Zabiny Brno's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Brno to the arena KP Brno.
