Quarter-Finals Round 2: TuNMKY - Lahti 102-58

Date: March 9, 2018
TuNMKY held off Lahti and sealed their next round appearance. The game was mostly controlled by TuNMKY. Lahti was better in fourth quarter 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Lahti 38-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. TuNMKY shot the lights out from three nailing 18 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Lahti's players. Forward Mikael Laihonen (202-94) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Tomi Lommi (194-96) supported him with 23 points. Four TuNMKY players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds by American power forward Henry Pwono (203-91, college: East Central) did not help to save the game for Lahti. His fellow American import guard Devin Martin (193, college: Md-E Shore) added 10 points for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
