Regular Season Round 21: Marousi - Kastoria 65-55

We should mention about the upset which took place in Athens, where higher ranked Kastoria (12-9) lost to eleventh ranked Marousi (9-12) in a road game 55-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Marousi. Kastoria managed to win second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kastoria to just 7 points in first quarter. Guard Christos Dakoulias (186-87) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and forward Eugenios Sergienko (203-98) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. Marousi's coach Kostas Keramidas used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Danis Eleftheriadis (197-89) with 11 points and 6 rebounds and Apostolos Naoumis (198-93) scored 12 points. Marousi moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Psychiko. Kastoria at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Marousi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Amyntas Dafnis.
