Regular Season Round 25: Challans - Gries/Oberhoffen 76-84

NM1 top team - Gries/Oberhoffen (22-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Vendee Challans (15-10) 84-76. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Vendee Challans. Gries/Oberhoffen made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Strangely Vendee Challans outrebounded Gries/Oberhoffen 40-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. Guard Romain Hillotte (195-91) stepped up and scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Spanish guard Xavier Forcada (194-88) chipped in 13 points and 7 assists. Gries/Oberhoffen's coach Ludovic Pouillart allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side point guard Paul Turpin (190-93) responded with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Mali point guard Ibrahim Saounera (179-87) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Five Gries/Oberhoffen and four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. Gries/Oberhoffen have an impressive series of fifteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 22-2 record. Vendee Challans at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Gries/Oberhoffen will play against league's second-placed Saint Vallier at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vendee Challans will play against Saint-Quentin (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
