There was an upset when higher ranked Fellbach (11-12) was defeated at home by thirteenth ranked BG Karlsruhe (5-15) 74-70 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Croatian guard Matej Jelovcic (185-98) who scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized American guard Kenny Fluellen (191-90, college: Paine, agency: Global Sports Management LLC) chipped in 18 points. Worth to mention Fluellen played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Scooter Gillette (206-90, college: Fair Dickinson) who recorded 20 points and 9 rebounds and forward Nils-Frederik Menck (203-82) added 17 points respectively. Five BG Karlsruhe and four Fellbach players scored in double figures. BG Karlsruhe have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain thirteenth position in South-West with 5-15 record. Loser Fellbach keeps the eighth place with 12 games lost. BG Karlsruhe will face higher ranked Crailsheim II (#12) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
