There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Remer Treviglio (10-13) beat at home 12th ranked Eurobasket Roma (10-14) 89-76 on Sunday. Remer Treviglio made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Eurobasket Roma turnovers and outrebounded them 36-25 including 22 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American-Danish guard Alan Voskuil (191-86, college: Texas Tech) who scored 24 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American center Tony Easley (206-87, college: Murray St.) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward DeShawn Sims (203-88, college: Michigan) who recorded 28 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Michael Deloach (184-86, college: Norfolk St.) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Eurobasket Roma's coach Andrea Turchetto rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Remer Treviglio moved-up to twelfth place in A2. Loser Eurobasket Roma dropped to the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Remer Treviglio will face Mens Sana 1871 (#13) in Siena in the next round. Eurobasket Roma will play on the road against Legnano in Castellanza and hope to win that game.
