Regular Season Round 8: Gamos - Reinas 72-61

Rather expected game in Ciudad de Mexico where 5th ranked Reinas (3-5) were defeated by second ranked Gamos (6-2) 72-61 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American guard Hazel Ramirez (165-92, college: Loyola Mary) who scored 15 points and 8 assists. The former international Nancy Fermin (-90) chipped in 9 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Lucia Sanchez (167-93) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Sofia Moreno (185-88) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gamos maintains second position with 6-2 record behind leader Lobas, which they share with Mieleras and Aztks. Newly promoted Reinas keep the fifth place with five games lost. Gamos will meet at home Acereras (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Reinas will have a break next round.
