Second Stage Round 8: Balkan 2 - Vidabasket 102-91

The game between Top Four teams took place in Botevgrad. Third ranked host Balkan 2 (5-3) defeated one of their biggest challengers Vidabasket (3-3) 102-91. Balkan 2 forced 22 Vidabasket turnovers. The best player for the winners was power forward Rumen Vasilev (205-96) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Zdravko Hristov (184-97) chipped in 26 points and 8 assists. Five Balkan 2 players scored in double figures. Balkan 2's coach Ventsislav Stoev allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Teodor Nikolov (194-95) produced 35 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and forward Julian Kolev (194-80) added 27 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Newly promoted Balkan 2 maintains third position in A with 5-3 record behind leader CSKA. Vidabasket at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. Balkan 2 will meet league's leader CSKA in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vidabasket will play against Rilski 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
