The game with biggest result difference took place in Manila. Local Alab Pilipinas (12-6) outscored 6th ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (10-8) 126-100 on Wednesday night. Alab Pilipinas dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Saigon Heat's 42. They outrebounded Saigon Heat 46-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. Alab Pilipinas shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 64.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Saigon Heat's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward Justin Brownlee (197-88, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Puerto Rican forward Renaldo Balkman (203-84, college: S.Carolina) helped adding 30 points and 7 rebounds. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was Filipino-American guard Michael Williams (188-91, college: CS Fullerton) with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Nigerian power forward Maxie Esho (206-91, college: Massachusetts, agency: Two Points) scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alab Pilipinas maintains fourth place with 12-6 record. Saigon Heat at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Alab Pilipinas will meet at home CLS Knights (#7) in the next round. Saigon Heat will play against Singapore Slingers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
