Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Sokol Hradec Kralove (14-7) defeated at home 8th ranked Karlovy Vary (6-15) 77-63 on Wednesday. Sokol Hradec Kralove made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Karlovy Vary turnovers and outrebounded them 39-24 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Tereza Kuthanova (180-87) who scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Croatian center Josipa Bura (186-85) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Marques Webb (185-95, college: Vanderbilt) who recorded 14 points and 8 rebounds and guard Dominika Pohunkova (176-94) added 14 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Sokol Hradec Kralove moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Zabiny Brno. Karlovy Vary lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 15 games lost. Sokol Hradec Kralove will meet U19 Chance (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Karlovy Vary will play against MK Technic and hope to secure a win.
