The most important game of round 1 took place in Geneve of Places 1-6 where Geneve Lions beat Neuchatel (0-1) 83-68 on Saturday night. Geneve Lions forced 19 Neuchatel turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Geneve Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Neuchatel's players. American guard Marquis Addison (195-91, college: Missouri So., agency: XL Basketball Agency) stepped up and scored 15 points and 4 assists for the winners and Swedish point guard Thomas Massamba (183-85) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side American forward Antonio Ballard (194-88, college: Miami, OH) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Dominican guard Bryan Colon (181-92) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Neuchatel will play next round against Boncourt trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Geneve Lions will try to continue on its current victory against Massagno at home.
