Regular Season Round 25: Myrtia - Plasencia 68-56

Rather predictable result in Murcia where eleventh ranked Myrtia (12-13) defeated 14th ranked Plasencia (9-16) 68-56. The game was mostly controlled by Myrtia. Plasencia was better in third quarter 17-4. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Myrtia won last quarter 24-14. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Javier Mugica (200-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. British Matthew Don (201-93, college: Cameron) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Myrtia's coach Quini Garcia allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Fernando Sierra (194-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management) answered with 14 points and 9 rebounds and forward Mario Alvarez (196-91) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Plasencia. Myrtia moved-up to ninth place. Plasencia lost fourth consecutive game. Plasencia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Myrtia's next round opponent will be higher ranked L'Hospitalet (#7) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Plasencia will play against Albacete (#4) and hope to win that game.
