1Liga top team - Sokol Pisek (16-7) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Novy Jicin (9-14) 96-55. They outrebounded Novy Jicin 50-33 including a 43-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sokol Pisek looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Novy Jicin's players. The best player for the winners was power forward Pavel Englicky (210-83) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 22 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Petr Slechta (192-95) chipped in 24 points and 5 assists. Sokol Pisek's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Lukas Pindroch (198-92) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and guard Zdenek Jakubu (184-97) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sokol Pisek maintains first place in Places 7-12 with 16-7 record. Loser Novy Jicin dropped to the sixth position with 14 games lost. Sokol Pisek will meet BK Prostejov B (#4) on the road in the next round. Novy Jicin will play against Nymburk B and hope to secure a win.
