Regular Season Round 25: Viola RC - Latina Basket 90-94

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Latina Basket (12-13) defeated higher ranked Viola RC (14-11) in Reggio Calabria 94-90 on Sunday. Latina Basket shot 69.2 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Latina Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Viola RC was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American swingman Benjamin Raymond (198-87, college: Xavier) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Josh Hairston (203-92, college: Duke, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Agustin Fabi (199-91) answered with 28 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American forward AJ Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St.) added 20 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Viola RC. Five Latina Basket and four Viola RC players scored in double figures. Viola RC's coach Marco Calvani tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Latina Basket moved-up to ninth place in A2. Loser Viola RC keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. Latina Basket will face league's leader Novipiu Casale at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
