Eighth-ranked Padova (12-14) was very close to win a game against fourth ranked Lecco (17-9) on Sunday. Lecco managed to secure only two-point victory 71-69. However their fans expected much easier game. Lecco looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Power forward Jacopo Balanzoni (204-93, agency: Interperformances) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and point guard Matteo Fabi (188-91, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 22 points and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Lecco players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 6 assists by point guard Andrea Piazza (188-89) did not help to save the game for Padova. Forward Enrico Crosato (196-85) added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Lecco maintains fourth position in B with 17-9 record, which they share with Faenza. Loser Padova dropped to the ninth place with 14 games lost. Lecco will meet Volpino (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Padova will play against Desio (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
