Regular Season Round 23: Tokyo HT - Kagoshima 72-58

Very expected game when 6th ranked Kagoshima (14-18) was defeated on the road by first ranked Tokyo HT (26-6) 72-58 on Sunday. It was a great evening for American power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Swingman Mitsuhiro Kamezaki (189-86) helped adding 9 points and 4 assists. Tokyo HT's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American forward Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Bahamas center Gjio Bain (211-85, college: S.Mississippi) scored 6 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Tokyo HT. They maintain first place with 26-6 record. Kagoshima at the other side keeps the sixth position with 18 games lost. Tokyo HT will face again Kagoshima (#6) in Renova in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
