Second Stage Round 9: BUBA - Shumen 98-72

Leader BUBA delivered the eighth victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked Shumen (2-7) 98-72 in Sofia. BUBA made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 27 Shumen turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Guard Aleksandar Milov (198-95) nailed 15 points for the winning side and Nikolay Mihaylov (202-0) accounted for 13 points and 6 rebounds. Five BUBA players scored in double figures. Power forward Andrey Ivanov (206-96) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and forward Manol Tonchev (197-91) added 13 points respectively for Shumen in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted BUBA maintains first place in A with 8-1 record. Shumen at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. BUBA's next round opponent will be Beroe-2 (#6) in Stara Zagora which should be theoretically another easy game. Shumen will play at home against Athletic Sofia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
