HyPe held off ViVe for 1-0 advantage. The game was mostly controlled by HyPo. ViVe managed to win fourth quarter 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to ViVe's 30. HyPo forced 20 ViVe turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier) stepped up and scored 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international swingman Henna Salomaa (177-89, college: Oakland) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. HyPo's coach Miikka Sopanen used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Canadian forward Jennifer Mathurin (185, college: N.Carolina St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds and Noora Jarvikangas (184-94, college: ORU) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds.
