Second Stage Round 9: Uralmash - Burevestnik 67-64

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Burevestnik (30-3) in Ekaterinburg on Thursday night. Visitors were edged by second ranked Uralmash (25-8) 67-64. It ended at the same time the 13-game winning streak of Burevestnik. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Uralmash forced 19 Burevestnik turnovers. 30 personal fouls committed by Burevestnik helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Center Andrey Voron (208-87) stepped up and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and forward Semen Shashkov (205-89) chipped in 14 points. The best for the losing side was power forward Andrey Chernysh (212-90) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and guard Anton Ageev (191-84) scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Burevestnik players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Uralmash have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 25-8 record having five points less than leader Dyn-Magn.ChL. Burevestnik at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Uralmash are again looking forward to face league's leader Burevestnik in Yaroslav in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Burevestnik will have a break next round.
