Quarter-Finals Round 3: IR - Stjarnan 67-64

IR overcame visiting Stjarnan to take 2-1 advantage in the series. It looked good early as Stjarnan took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then IR had a 22-10 second period charge getting the lead and Stjarnan was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-67. Strangely Stjarnan outrebounded IR 46-32 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Ryan Taylor (196-92, college: Marshall) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. His fellow American import forward Danero Thomas (200-86, college: Murray St.) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. IR's coach Borche Ilievski allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international power forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Robert Sigurdsson (187-94) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Stjarnan. Four Stjarnan players scored in double figures.
