Everything went according to plan in Praha where fifteenth ranked GBA Sparta (12-12) outleveled 19th ranked Olomouc SK (4-20) 87-64 on Friday. GBA Sparta dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Olomouc SK's 36. GBA Sparta forced 21 Olomouc SK turnovers and outrebounded them 37-25 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. GBA Sparta looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Olomouc SK's players. The best player for the winners was Slovakian center Maros Zeliznak (208-99) who scored 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Forward Tomas Mikyska (200-0) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Five GBA Sparta players scored in double figures. GBA Sparta will face Pardubice (#18) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Olomouc SK will play against Sokol Prazky and hope to win that game.
